Logox250 cov235This month Sheffield is hosting the 22nd year of Off the Shelf Festival of Words. If the previous years are anything to go by, the programme promises to be diverse and exciting with something to suit everyone regardless of age or gender. Off the Shelf Festival of Words is an annual highlight and this year is even more exciting for us as Dr. Katie Edwards, who created and runs the Hidden Perspectives research project, will be there with her latest book, Admen and Eve: The Bible in Advertising, exploring the ways in which the Bible, specifically Eve, is used in advertising today.

Katie will be at the Showroom Cinema, (Paternoster Row, S1) on Monday the 28th of October. Tickets are £7.50/£5.50 (cons). Tickets can be bought online, by phone (0114 273 4400) or in person from The Arena Ticket Shop as well as from Sheffield Theatres Box Office and City Hall Box Office. For more information regarding Katie’s participation in this year’s Off the Shelf, follow this link.

The event also includes exhibitions (Distant Lands: The Steel Trail), poetry (Pam Ayres- You Made Me Late Again!), theatre (Being Human), writing groups (Writing Groups Fair), novels (Gavin Extence- The Universe vs Alex Woods), and of course academic work (Dr. Katie Edwards- Admen and Eve: The Bible in Advertising) as well as much much more. Please Note that tickets must be bought for individual events.
