Bringing the Bible Out of the Closet

Transgender Remembrance Day

The 20th of November annually marks Transgender Remembrance Day.

This Remembrance Day was set up in 1999 a year after Rita Hester was murdered and is dedicated to those lost due to transphobia.

This is more than a day when we think about those who have lost their lives, as it has become a day of action! A day which aims to bring attention to the continued violence unfairly suffered by the transgender community, with events going on all over the country this year to mark Transgender Remembrance Day.

This year Transgender Remembrance Day is even more poignant as if falls during Anti-Bullying Week.
