Bringing the Bible Out of the Closet

The Final LGBT and Faith Discussion Group

Don’t miss tonight’s final LGBT and Faith Discussion Group which will be led by Maddy Oakes, a graduate from the Department of Biblical Studies and a current PGCE student. The evening will provide opportunities to discuss gender and sexuality and biblical themes in a safe and friendly environment.

This weeks focus will be Leviticus 18.22 and 20.13. Maddy will be leading discussion on how these passages are often used to condemn homosexuality and will be looking at surrounding prohibitions in Leviticus in order to see if such passages could be interpreted in a different way than has been done traditionally.

The group starts at 7.30 and is held in the Multifaith Gatherring Room in the Octagon Centre.
