What is photo lab used for?
Photo lab technicians work at different local photographic service centres and laboratories as well as at photofinishing shops and retail outlets. The job requires a calm attitude, good manual dexterity and a systematic approach to the work. The technician must be able to read and understand a range of technical documents, including paper qualities, print modes and print quality requirements.
The lab technicians also provide advice and training to photographers in the area of printing and post-processing. This includes colour management and the printing process itself, and may include the use of a computer to assist in printing.
